Course Detail: ADRW-261 - ELEMENTS OF INTERIOR DESIGN

An overview of the field of interior design, this course will show you the methods used to create a room that is physically, visually and intellectually satisfying. Instruction includes basic principles of space planning, drafting, color theory, and materials and finishes. Students work toward creating an idea board for a residential room.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

Recite the steps to the design process
Present the general space planning principles
Create a space plan utilizing interior design scales.
Create a mood board that demonstrates an understanding of materials and finishes and their current usages.
Present a space plan and mood board to classmates and instructor
