Explore a range of acrylic painting techniques while directing the development of particular ideas, themes, or subjects. The technical goals in this course include understanding the use of color properties to depict illusionary space and form while examining the relationships between material and metaphor, surface and structure, image and meaning.

  • University or Princeton Brand #2. #4, #6, #8 BRIGHTS acrylic paint brushes 

  • Various old brushes for washes

  • Water bucket half gallon or gallon in size

  • Cold press illustration board 15"x20" 110 weight (purchase five initially)

  • One Masterson "Sta-Wet" large palette, a pack of "Sta-Wet" palette paper, one pack of "Sta-wet" palette sponges, and or both sizes (7 1/2" X 11" and 11 X 15") butcher trays

  • Liquitex Heavy Body acrylic paints (purchase exact color)

  • 3 black Prismacolor pencils

  • Pencil Sharpener

  • Kneaded erasers

  • White Stadtler Mann type eraser

  • One small to medium sized water spray bottle

  • Standard Hair Dryer
