Course Detail: AEXP-066 - FIBER ARTS: SASHIKO

Create textiles that are both beautiful and functional. Shashiko is an ancient Japanese mending technique that uses geometric decorative stitches to reinforce fabrics. 

Students will learn the basic history of Sashiko mending, the difference between Boro and Sashiko, controlling stitch length and tension, and how to apply the techniques for practical use.  Students will complete a sampler over the course of the workshop. Supplies included.

$50 plus $15 material fee
