This class is designed to give officers a chance to explore dynamic but natural empty-handed responses to close-quarter attacks. Officers will practice tactics that will allow them to stop, de-escalate, intercept or counter the attack through recognizing the assailant's pre-assault cues. Mental, emotional and physical barriers that occur during potentially violent encounters will also be explored and discussed during this class.
