This is a topic of choice as mandated by the N.C. Training and Standards Commission. In this class, you will review the purpose of the Blood-borne Pathogen Standard in OSHA 29 CFR 1920.1030. Also discussed: the general symptoms and epidemiology of blood-borne diseases; modes of transmission; tasks and other activities that may involve exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials; methods to prevent or reduce exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials; and selection, storage, use and disposal of personal protective equipment. You will also examine the components of the Blood-borne Exposure Control Plan.
