The Advanced Field Training Officer (FTO) Course,is designed for Field Training Officers who have,previously completed the North Carolina Justice,Academy (NCJA) 40-hour FTO program. The course,is also appropriate for FTO Coordinators or,Supervisors who manage and maintain their,agency's FTO program. Course topics may include,refresher training for communications, ethics,,the roles of the FTO, coaching, counseling, civil,liability, and leadership. Enhanced training and,practical exercises may be provided for the,topics of performance evaluations, remedial,training, problem based learning, scenario based,training, leadership, and promotional assessments.
