This course is designed to cover initial response objectives to a hazardous materials incident. This block will present the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and ability to satisfy the requirements of OSHA 1910.120 and Chapter 4, 5, 6.2, and 6.6 of NFPA 1072: Standard for Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Emergency Response Personnel Professional Qualifications (2017 edition). This course should be offered consistent with the most current NC Fire and Rescue Commission guidelines; contact the Office of State Fire Marshal (OSFM) for details.
