Training Information: CED-0838 - Basic Welding

This basic welding training starts with welding safety, a mandatory requirement for use of the Vermont Tech Welding Laboratory. With a hands-on approach, you'll be introduced to MIG, STICK and TIG welding techniques. This training will cover the basics, including various types of metals and their properties with regard to welding; proper tank& pressure setup;  what the ideal weld should look like; as well as what kind of defects occur that produce poor welds. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to learn how to use a plasma cutter to accurately cut various types of metals.
