COUN 2900: From Behaving to Belonging

Challenging behavior is one of the most significant issues that all educators face. Participants in this book study will learn how teachers can shift from a "behavior management" mindset, which punishes students for bad behavior and rewards for compliant behavior, to an approach that supports all students-even the most challenging one with kindness, creativity, acceptance, and love. This approach focuses on the students' strengths, gifts, and talents and helps to ensure that students' social, emotional, and academic needs are met.

Google Classroom information and credit registration will be sent out to participants closer to the event time. Participants are required to purchase the book "From Behaving to Belonging by Julie Causton & Kate Macleod" from Amazon.
