COUN 536: Medical & Psychosocial Aspects of Disabilities

This course focuses on medical and psychosocial information regarding chronic illnesses and disabilities in clinical rehabilitation counseling practice. Students will develop an understanding of functional implication of physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities. Information on disability-related demographics, onset, severity, progression and expected duration, etiology, prognosis, treatment procedures, and rehabilitation and vocational implications will be covered for each disabling condition. This course will also cover medical specialties, therapeutic services, restorative techniques, medical terminology, and medical examinations. Prerequisite: Admission into the Masters of Counseling Program.

Prerequisite: Acceptance to UND Grad School as a degree or non-degree seeking student

  • Have you previously attended or been admitted to UND, either on-campus or online? If you are brand new to the University of North Dakota system, please select 'No'. Schedule: Upon receiving access to your course, you will have 3 to 9 months to complete. Course access is typically granted within 5-7 business days. Work at your own pace.

Cancellation Policy

Withdrawals received 1 to 30 calendar days after your registration date will be refunded 100% of the course tuition. Withdrawals received 31 to 60 calendar days after your registration date will be refunded 50% of the course tuition. No refunds are available if UND receives your Withdrawal after 61+ calendar days after your registration date. The 1-time UND Admission Fee of $35 is non-refundable.
