T&L 2900: MC: Wild About Land, Water, & People
Project WET, Aquatic and Project Learning Tree have environmental education curricula for grades PreK-12. These curricula provide educators with hands-on activities, using water, land and forests to teach subjects like math, reading, and science while being correlated to state and national standards for learning. "WILD about Land, Water and People" is a 36 hour (in-person) and 10 hour (virtual), 3 credit professional development course for educators. This training session is perfect for PreK-12 teachers, university professors, informal educators, natural resource professionals, and leaders who work with kids, who want to help them understand the value of their environment.
"WILD about Land, Water and People" is a joint effort by ND Water Resources and ND Water Resources and their facilitators, Tina Harding (ND Water Resources) Angela Bartholomay (Professor, Project Learning Tree Facilitator, Project WET/PLT Facilitator - Dakota College at Bottineau) Beth Hill (Outreach and Education Manager/Project Learning Tree State Coordinator - North Dakota Forest Service) and Bonita Roswick (Prairie Waters Education and Research Center). Additional instructors may be added. Ms. Tina Harding, Mrs. Bartholomay and Mrs. Hill will oversee instructors and presenters to ensure adherence to course mission, purpose, and learning objectives.
Participants will receive an in-depth overview of the curricula guides that have been designed to challenge students. Upon completion of the course, participants will have the training to incorporate these Curricula in their classroom.
