T&L 2900: Features of Effective Math Instruction Workshop - Mandaree

Features of Effective Math Instruction Workshop is for teachers, school administrators, instructional coaches, and ND REA staff. Participants will explore the following elements of research based mathematics instruction: explicit instruction with modeling; systematic instruction with scaffolding; multiple opportunities to practice and respond plus immediate and corrective feedback; and cumulative mixed review and procedural skill and fluency.  Following the study of these elements participants will analyze their current math textbook using the Textbook Effective Math Instruction Scoring Rubric to determine current curriculum's strengths and weaknesses and  apply knowledge gained in the Features of Effective Math Instruction workshop to address identified weaknesses in textbook.
