This self-paced professional development course engages high school educators in critical reflection and practical application around issues of equity, identity, and student achievement. Participants will select one of four professional texts focused on equity in education and use it as a lens to examine the systemic and classroom-level factors that contribute to achievement gaps.

Through guided reading, reflection, and application, educators will explore how race, culture, identity, and bias influence student experiences and outcomes. While each participant's learning pathway is anchored in a different text, all course activities are designed to support a shared goal: translating equity-focused insights into meaningful changes in classroom practice.

Participants will analyze their own instructional approaches, classroom environments, and expectations for students, and will develop actionable strategies to create more inclusive, identity-safe, and academically rigorous learning experiences. Emphasis is placed on moving beyond awareness toward sustained, practice-based improvement that supports the success of all students, particularly those from historically marginalized groups.
