Our Dakotas AER chapter meets annually, typically for a 3-day-long conference. The purpose of the conference is to learn from each other as well as outside speakers and presenters. This year our topic centers around hands-on learning and mental health. We will have opportunities to learn from experts in other parts of the country and do various hands-on activities to experience those discussions. We also recognize those that have excelled in the field of vision rehabilitation and education with annual awards: "Friends of Vision Award" and "Riki Nitz Worker of the Year Award".
