Hyonsuk Cho
Biography: Hyonsuk Cho joined the faculty of College of Education and Human Development as an assistant professor in Fall 2016. She earned her PhD in Foreign and Second Language Education at the State University of New York at Buffalo and received her master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Pennsylvania. Her research agendas include immigrant and refugee students' language, academic and social development, culturally relevant text for ELLs, and multimodal learning. Hyonsuk has taught students from diverse backgrounds and interacted with them at both undergraduate and graduate levels and in both face-to-face and online settings.

This course explores the grammatical and discourse structures of the modern English language, analysis of grammar and discourse with a focus on specific problem areas for ELLs, and pedagogical implications for English language development.
