Helicopter Degraded Visual Environmental & Spatial Disorientation Training
This course is designed to train helicopter aircrews for degraded visual environments and spatial disorientation. The training will incorporate academics reviewing human orientation systems, the effects of visual illusions in the enroute, maneuvering, and landing zone phases of fight, weather-related illusions, tools of counter visual illusions, conditions that promote spatial disorientation (SD), pilot response to SD, review specific SD illusions, SD countermeasures, and immediate pilot actions.
