T&L 2900: 2025 Children's Literature
This course provides an introduction to children's literature, from pre-school nursery rhymes and picture books that are read to children, to the stories, myths, legends, and other tales that children read on their own in the elementary grades.

T&L 2900: 2025 Supporting New Teachers Through Mentoring
Participants will learn about the roles and relationships of those involved in student teaching while applying professional standards in supervision of student teachers. They will guide their student teachers in the activities and responsibilities of teaching and assist them in making a successful transition to becoming successful teachers.

In The Anxious Generation, social psychologist Jonathan Haidt discusses the facts about the epidemic of teen mental illness that hit many countries simultaneously. He discusses the nature of childhood, including what and why children need play along with independent exploration and adventures free from adult intercession to mature into competent, thriving adults.

T&L 2900: Using Photojournalism to Increase Writing Opportunities
Photojournalism in schools involves using photography to tell stories and document community events. Participants will learn to capture images, craft narratives, and evaluate the quality of visual work, both their own and others. The overarching theme of this course is to use photos to tell a story, using the photographs as a visual storytelling board in their narrative writings.
