Karen Devers
Biography: Dr. Karen Devers received her Doctorate of Philosophy in Adult Education from the University of North Dakota. She earned her Master of Fine Arts from UND and her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Minnesota State University-Moorhead. Dr. Devers also completed a summer international study program at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. In addition to teaching for UND, Dr. Devers has taught art to Norwegian and American students majoring in business at the Ostfold Academy in Norway. She also has designed and taught campus and distance art and education courses for Alliant International University in Irvine, California. Her book, Awaken Your Holistic Brain: Getting Logic and Imagination to Work for You, was published by Imagine Art! in 2006. Currently, Dr. Devers is an Instructional Systems Designer at Banfield, The Pet Hospital at Central Team Support in Portland, Oregon. She lives with her cat, Katy Kat, who she rescued from Chula Vista, California, and her mini-Dachsund-Pomeranian mix, Maxine, who she rescued from Spring, Texas. She enjoys walking, reading, sewing, gardening, cooking, and watching Katy and Maxine play together.
