HIST 105: World Civilizations I

Thematic comparative survey of world history from the earliest times to the middle ages, focusing on cultural difference, interaction and exchange. Major course themes will include the origin of urban civilizations, the growth of empires, the effects of environmental change, and the development of major religions, technologies, and scientific knowledge.
