T&L 2900: The Knowledge Gap - Science of Reading Learning Event

Participants will meet, discuss, and complete coursework for one to two hours weekly, while also spending time completing assigned reading on their own outside of group meetings. Through group discussion, participants will be better able to assess the strategies of their own classrooms and begin to take purposeful steps in developing engaging and construction climates of learning. Teachers will learn how to identify common instructional practice to reconsider and explore various misunderstandings that establish and keep those practices in play. Teachers will reflect on their own teaching styles and continue to build their "toolbox" of strategies for all types of students.
