EDL 2900: Teaching Adolescent Writers

This course focuses on writing across the curriculum to support literacy instruction. Individuals will read the text Teaching Adolescent Writers along with several other supplemental materials to examine how literacy instruction can be embedded within the curriculum across content areas. Through reading, writing, and discussion, individuals will explore ways to integrate literacy into their daily instruction. Instructional strategies modeled and practice will include the integration of inquiry, the importance of modeling writing, including student choice, and examining multiple ways to assess writing across the curriculum.
