Biography: Whit Colvin is a partner in the law firm of Bishop, Colvin, Johnson & Kent, LLC, in Birmingham, where he specializes in the representation of state and local governments. He regularly works with boards of education and the State Department of Education on matters relating to education, epecializing in desegregation, federal regulatory and statutory law, education finance issues, and other areas. He is a member of the Birmingham Bar Association, Alabama Bar Association, American Bar Association , Alabama Council of School Board Attorneys, where he served on the Board from 2005-2007, as Vice President in 2006, and President in 2007, and the Alabama Associationof Municipal Attorneys. He was designated in Top Attorneys - "Rising Stars" by Birmingham Magazine, and enjoys and AV Rating in the Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directory.
