Biography: David Smith, CPA currently serves as the executive director for Alabama Association of School Business Officials. He also works as an educational consultant providing services for governmental entities in the areas of financial management, capital planning, human resources, strategic planning, organizational and management studies and employee training. He was the Chief Financial Officer/ Administrator for Business Affairs for the Madison County School System in Huntsville, Alabama where he was responsible for all business and financial affairs for the school district, including budgeting, finance, capital construction, and operations. He has served on numerous boards and committees relating to school finance.
