Join author, photographer, and architectural historian Dale A. Carlson as he explores the rich architectural legacy of Michigan's beloved Mackinac Island. Learn more about Fort Mackinac, home of the oldest masonry structures in the state, the lavish summer cottages of West Bluff and Huron Roads, and the legendary Grand Hotel, plus a handful of other highlights. Carlson's lecture content is complemented by a PowerPoint slideshow featuring loads of professional photography of the sites and structures discussed, as well as historic images and newspaper clippings that further elucidate their historic context. The presentation lasts approximately one hour and will be followed by a Q&A.
