Course Detail: LASSOINGSUN - 191 Lassoing the Sun: A Year in America's National Parks

Lassoing the Sun: A Year in America's National Parks by Mark Woods is a blend of travel writing, memoir, and environmental reflection. The book chronicles Woods's year-long journey through America's national parks as he approaches his fiftieth birthday and seeks to reconnect with the places that shaped his childhood. Inspired by family road trips to parks such as Yosemite, Redwood, and the Grand Canyon, Woods sets out to visit a different park each month while exploring the challenges facing the National Park Service in its second century. At its heart, Lassoing the Sun is a meditation on legacy, loss, and stewardship.
