Course Detail: 346GOODRIDGE - 346 The Goodridge Brothers of Saginaw

From 1863 until 1922, the Goodridge Brothers operated one the region's most important photography studios. Their work recorded Saginaw's rise as a lumber center and its reinvention as an industrial city. Their studio was located on South Washington Avenue in the heart of the business district - only a few doors away from the SVSU Riverfront Center. The presentation will discuss the lives of these nationally-recognized black photographers and will be followed by a walking tour using their images to explore the history of downtown Saginaw.
