Course Detail: 282CLIMATE - 282 How Climate Crisis Could Affect You and Your Family: Grandchildren, Climate and Bill McKibben

Bill McKibben's book was the first widely read description of why there was a climate crisis and what our avoidance of work to change how we got energy would cause major if not fatal consequence for all higher forms of life. He went on to be an activist and founded 350.org which caused many thousands, if not millions of people, to take the climate crisis serious. Much of the work of 350.org was focused on young people. As he aged he left the 350 organization in good hands and began to focus on older people through the Third Act organization. A goal of this class is to see how those over 60 in the Tri-cities will see the Third Act Activities as providing ways to work for their children and grandchildren as they, and we, we face the warming climate and the problems it causes.
