Course Detail: 120ALASKA - 120 The Geography of Alaska
This presentation provides an overview of Alaska's geography to provide valuable context for new cruisers to the Last Frontier. Participants will first learn about Alaska's physical geography. Then we will incorporate the history of human interaction with this magnificent landscape. Class participants will gain enhanced understanding of coastal landscapes and settlements that you might encounter on a trip to Alaska. Dr. Frederick W. Sunderman is a member of the SVSU Geography Department. He teaches varied courses in human geography, with an emphasis on landscape history. He has completed 12 journeys to Alaska, mainly to coastal regions.
