Course Detail: BAYCITYWALK - 10 Downtown Bay City Architecture Walking Tour

Meet at 321 Washington Ave., Bay City (Bay County Historical Society) Old buildings filled with charm dot the main streets of Washington, Center and Madison Avenues in Bay City. Everything that a successful "heart" of a city needs could be found here: drug stores, markets, clothiers, restaurants, grocers, government offices and entertainment venues. Local architects Pratt & Koeppe left an architectural legacy and were famous for constructing many of the sites to be seen on this tour of Bay City Architecture. Albert Kahn of Detroit (Fisher Building, Cadillac Place and the Belle Isle Conservatory among others) even had a hand in some designs in Bay City. Besides beauty and splendor, the featured buildings also hold stories that shaped the city and Bay County's history. The tour will share information highlighting the history and importance of these structures. Lunch will follow at Tavern 101, downtown Bay City. Upon registration you will select your lunch choice. If weather conditions are unfavorable, this program may be cancelled. Participation is limited to 20 people.
