Join OLLI members on the Diamond Jack River Cruise, "Cruising" the Detroit River. This cruise will include a narrated history by Captain Bill Hoey. He will share his love of the Great Lakes and lore of the Detroit River. Prior to the cruise, we'll enjoy a motorcoach and walking tour of the historic Eastern Market district. Linda Yellin, owner of Feet on the Street Tours, will give us an overview of the new public art and murals in the district. We will learn about the expansion of food businesses, breweries, and new housing. We will visit vendors and growers under the Sheds at the Tuesday market. We will learn about the unique businesses that have been a part of this district for more than 100 years while enjoying some morning snacks. Trip package includes Detroit River lunch and narrated cruise, tour and tasting at Eastern Market, and motorcoach transportation from SVSU.
