Course Detail: ES0155 - Advanced Reading/Writing ESL

This course is designed to help advanced students polish their reading strategies for processing texts. Skill areas include inference, critical analysis, predicting and evaluating points of view and reading between the lines. The course provides students with a variety of text types such as summary, critique, argument and fiction. There is special emphasis on the organization, style and accuracy of academic writing and editing and correcting one's writing. Students may register for this course after they have either taken the ESL placement exam and/or have received permission from the Continuing Education ESL Program Director.
