Information

Wendy Sheppard and Brian Sheehan will talk about the history of mapping at IDOT and the current official state highway map. Sheppard is IDOT's mapping and information systems unit chief. Sheehan is a Geographic Information Systems mapping specialist who leads the team behind biennial updates to the official highway map.Barb Clauser will discuss her work on the map commemorating this year's 100th anniversary of Route 66. Her work at the agency focuses on information technology, GIS and technical writing. The fourth speaker, Jared Streder, a database management specialist, will tell us about IDOT's move towards interactive maps, which put a wide range of maps and map information at the public's fingertips.
