CEUs & Certificates: 
  • 5.5 CEUs through IDFPR will be awarded for the following professions: OT/OTA, RN/LPN/APRN, Massage Therapy, Professional Counselors, Social Workers, Nursing Home Administrators.  
  • 5.5 Professional Development Hours will be awarded for K-12 instructors for state of IL teaching license renewal.   
  • All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance within 14 days of conference conclusion which can be presented to your licensing board if CEUs are not covered for your specific profession. We cannot guarantee CEUs for any profession not listed above.

Concurrent Session Descriptions (More may be added): 
  • Escape Room with Aishling Kelly
    This Escape room places students in a fun, high stakes challenge where they must solve caregiving and clinical puzzles to unlock their patients' room and deliver safe care. After participating in the escape room activity, attendees will learn how to develop their own escape room activity. Note that this is a double session and will take two breakout session slots (10 am - 11:50 am).
  • CHW as a Career Option with Sarahjini Nunn
    Community Health Workers (CHWs) are essential to addressing disparities in healthcare delivery and health outcomes. The sustainability of this workforce is hindered by challenges including wages, job security, and opportunities for advancement and recognition. The Illinois CHW Certification and Reimbursement Act was specifically enacted to address these issues through the creation of a statewide CHW Certification Program. This presentation will outline the role of CHWs and the history of the legislation. The Administrative Rules governing the program and introduce CHW as a career option.
  • ISBE CTE Health Career Pathways: Milestones and Momentum with Shaista Saiyed and Dr. Erica Thieman
    This session provides an overview of Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Career and Technical Education (CTE) modernized Health Career pathways and their impact on workforce development. Attendees will gain insight into how HST program prepares students for in-demand healthcare careers through structured instruction, hands-on learning, and meaningful work-based learning experience. The presentation highlights key outcomes while emphasizing the critical role of partnerships between education, industry, and community stakeholders. It also identifies current challenges and opportunities for expanded collaboration to strengthen and sustain the healthcare talent pipeline.
  • Beyond the Chart: Engineering Empathy in the Next Generation of Care with Jeannine Marco
    This Professional Development (PD) session is designed specifically for high school health science and CTE educators. It bridges the gap between high-level medical training and the high school classroom, providing actionable tools to help students master the "soft skills" that are now essential for modern clinical practice.
