Biography: I am a dedicated educator and school counselor with over 4 years of experience supporting students' academic, social-emotional, and personal growth. I serve at Minooka Consolidated Community School District 201, working closely with middle school students, staff, and families to build an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
I am passionate about equity and student voice and strive to incorporate culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices into everything I do.
I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling from Governors State University and my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Illinois State University. As a district DEI trainer, I lead professional development sessions on allyship, racial identity, and dismantling systemic bias.
My work is grounded in strong relationships, student empowerment, and restorative approaches. I have facilitated small groups focusing on executive functioning, identity, and building healthy peer relationships. I also support curriculum development and district-wide initiatives that center the needs of marginalized youth.
Outside my professional role, I enjoy coaching track, cooking, and traveling, and am committed to lifelong learning and community engagement. I believe deeply in the power of connection and advocacy to create meaningful change in schools.
