Camp Detail: STORMSCI - Storm Science

Who: High School Students ages 15-18, Must be 15 years old by May 1st

Step into the world of extreme weather and uncover the science behind the storm at Storm Science Camp. Through experiments,data analysis, and fieldwork, you'll explore how weather systems form and evolve.
Dive into topics like cloud formation, cyclones, spaceweather, thunderstorms, and tornado dynamics, using real satellite and radar data to interpret current conditions.
Held during the North American Monsoon season, this camp offers a front-row seat to powerful weather phenomena. You'll apply forecasting models, operate meteorological instruments, and even launch a weather balloon to collect atmospheric data.
Participants will also experience the communication side of meteorology by creating their own broadcast forecasts and weather videos.
The forecast? A 100% chance of discovery.
Not for college credit
Tuition Includes
Supervised housing, on-campus meals, classroom instruction, books, and materials. Students are requested to bring their own linens/sleeping bags/towels. More information to be provided in the Enrollment Packet. "Take Flight" and "Diamond Flight" Camp does not include lodging.
Cancellation Policy
A $50 processing fee will be deducted from all cancellations. If a written cancellation notice is received by May 1st, the remaining balance will be fully refunded. For cancellations submitted after May 1st, 50% of the tuition cost will be forfeited. Additionally, if the camp is full and your cancellation notice is received after May 1st, a refund will only be issued if your student's spot can be filled.
