Camp Detail: GENENG - Genetic Engineering
Who: High School Students ages 14-18
When: June 21, 2026 - June 26, 2026
Where: Prescott, Arizona
Tuition: $1500
Participants will explore how scientists use DNA manipulation to transform medicine, agriculture, and biotechnology.
Through hands-on lab work and digital tools, you'll clone and edit genes, produce recombinant proteins, and study model organisms to see how genetics drive innovation in human health. You'll also examine real-world applications, from gene therapy to sustainable food production, while considering the ethical and societal impacts of this rapidly advancing field.
Gained a molecular-level understanding of how genes shape life and how scientists are engineering the future of medicine, bio-technology, and environmental science through the following:
- Bioinformatics: using data to decode the language of life.
- Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR): amplifying DNA to reveal genetic blueprints.
- Cloning and recombinant protein expression in E.coli.
- Protein purification and analysis with fluorescent and chemiluminescent tags.
- Virtual Reality simulations to explore DNA and protein structures in 3D.
Get ready to experiment, analyze, and innovate because in Genetic Engineering, the code of life is yours to explore.
