Camp Detail: SFS - SunFlight Solo

SunFlight Solo

Who: Students ages 16-18 (Registrations submitted for campers who do not meet the specified age criteria will be cancelled. In such cases, the cancellation policy does apply).

When: July 5 - July 23, 2026.

Where: Daytona Beach, FL 

Tuition: $10,530.00 (Includes supervised housing, daily instruction, aircraft and simulator time, classroom materials, on-campus meals, and up to 4 guests for the graduation dinner).

SunFlight solo allows aspiring pilots, regardless of experience level, to fly solo under FAA 14 CFR Part 61. Participating students will be able to train under Embry-Riddle flight instructors, on topics including navigation, air traffic control, meteorology, aviation safety, and much more. Students must be 16 years old by July 10th and have an FAA Medical Certificate and Student Pilot Certificate. 

*Please note that flight hours are not guaranteed, as weather, maintenance, and backlogs may occur. K-12 and flight line will do our best to modify remaining flights to accommodate any previously scheduled flight block. Solo flights cannot be guaranteed and are based solely off student aptitude, capability, and local weather. The tuition includes a deposit toward the flight fees. Total flight costs vary and are dependent upon the student's abilities. Flight/Instruction fees will be due at the completion of each lesson. 

Through hands-on activities, and expert-led sessions, students will explore essential fields such as: 

  • Air Traffic Control
  • Aeronautical Science
  • Federal Aviation Regulations

Registration will be open on January 12th, 2026. 

Cancellation Policy

Each cancellation will incur a $50 processing fee deducted from the refund, and every camp includes a non-refundable $30 registration fee. If we receive your cancellation in writing by Mat 1st, you will receive a full refund minus these two fees. Cancellations received after May 1st will result in forfeiture of the tuition deposit. If the camp is already full, a refund can only be issued if your student's spot is filled by another participant. International Student Fees are non-refundable. 

International Students

If you are a non-US Citizen, you are required to have more than just a visitor visa to attend this program (required visa type such asF1).  Once your application has been processed, you will receive communication on your next steps for all additional required documents. Once your file is reviewed, you will receive your letter of acceptance and instructions on how to obtain your I-20, along with instructions on how to start your background check. You must also pass the background check, including fingerprinting as required by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
