SunFlight Private allows aspiring pilots, regardless of experience level, the opportunity to earn their private pilot certificate. Students will work with world class flight instructors alongside current Embry-Riddle students to gain the knowledge necessary to pass the FAA Private Pilot knowledge, flight, and oral exams. Although this program is designed for students of all experience levels, students are recommended to participate in the SunFlight Solo Program prior to SunFlight Private. Students must be 17 years old by July 1st to enroll, have an FAA Medical Certificate and Student Pilot Certificate.

*Please note that flight hours are not guaranteed, as weather, maintenance, and backlogs may occur. K-12 and flight line will do our best to modify remaining flights to accommodate any previously scheduled flight block. Final completion of certificated rating is based solely off student aptitude and capability and is not guaranteed. The tuition includes a deposit toward the flight fees. Total flight costs vary and are dependent upon the student's abilities. Flight/Instruction fees will be due at the completion of each lesson.

Through hands-on activities, and expert-led sessions, students will explore fields such as:
  • Aviation Safety
  • Aeronautical Science
  • Flight Operations
