Gear up for an unforgettable adventure as you take part in a thrilling, hands-on journey through the world of criminal investigation. Guided by Embry-Riddle professors and forensic experts, you'll experience every phase of solving a complex simulated crime. The sessions focus on a specialized area of forensics, blending scientific discovery, critical thinking, and investigative skill. Each session can be taken individually, but together they form an immersive three-week arc. You'll walk away with not only a deeper understanding of forensic science but also the teamwork, analytical, and critical-thinking skills of a real investigator.
Week 1: The Campus Mystery - A Forensic Whodunit
Everyone is a suspect. Everyone has a secret.
Step into a real-life murder mystery inspired by the classic game Clue! Campers become characters in an unfolding investigation across Embry-Riddle's Prescott Campus. Through crime scene processing, fingerprint analysis, forensic psychology, evidence examination, and investigative interviews, students must separate fact from fiction, uncover hidden clues, and determine what really happened. The week culminates in a dramatic final accusation and case reveal.
Week 2: Wild Forensics - From the Field to the Lab
Nature holds the evidence. Science reveals the story.
Discover how forensic science is used to investigate wildlife crimes and uncover evidence hidden in the natural world. Campers become wildlife forensic investigators, exploring outdoor crime scenes, animal remains, skeletal identification, trace evidence, microscopy, and laboratory analysis. Through hands-on scientific challenges, students will learn how investigators connect evidence to events and use forensic techniques to protect wildlife and solve environmental mysteries.
Week 3: Forensics - The Final Frontier
From aircraft accidents to crime scenes beyond Earth.
What happens when forensic investigations take flight, or leave Earth entirely? Campers explore aviation accident investigation, forensic engineering, human factors, and the challenges of collecting evidence in space. Through simulated crash investigations, hands-on experiments, and exploration of astronomical science and space environments, students will discover how forensic science adapts to extreme conditions. The week concludes with a space crime scene challenge where teams must develop an investigative strategy for an incident aboard a spacecraft.

Tuition Includes
Supervised housing, on-campus meals, classroom instruction, books, and materials. Students are required to bring their own linens/sleeping bags/towels. More information to be provided in the Enrollment Packet.
"Take Flight" and "Diamond Flight" Camps do not include lodging.
