This Space & Planetary Adventures in Research through Coding with LEGO at Embry-Riddle camp is an all-inclusive STEM Summer camp. It is centered on interactive learning of planetary science and technology. We especially encourage applications from deserving students from low-income families. The university will provide computer resources, space, housing and meals for a group of 12 students from Grades 6-8. The implementation of a fully integrated experience provides equal opportunity to all students, independently from their resources. The LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Space Challenge's mini-games let the campers learn about STEM through hands-on problem-solving. The students work as young scientists and engineers, "immersing themselves in motivating STEM activities that prompt creative problem solving, communication and teamwork" (LEGO Education, 2020). We supplement these activities with scientific laboratory visits at Embry-Riddle and presentations from Engineering Physics faculty from Astronomy, Astrophysics, Planetary Sciences, Space Sciences and other related STEM fields.

This camp tuition is fully supported by the National Science Foundation under CAREER grant 2047863 to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University). 12 Scholarship slots will be selected by the Professor once registration has closed. (One submission per person.)
