Camp Detail: SFP - SunFlight Private Pilot

Who: Students Ages 17-18

When: June 16 - August 8

Where: Daytona Beach, FL

Tuition: $28,530.00 (includes supervised housing, on-campus meals, course fees, ground lab instruction, flight materials, books, and a non-refundable $30 registration fee)

This structured program allows aspiring pilots to potentially earn their Private Pilot Certificate in the same environment as our University flight students. Regardless of the student's flight experience, this program is designed to provide the knowledge necessary for qualified students� to successfully pass the FAA Private Pilot knowledge, flight, and oral exams. However, if the student has previously attended our SunFlight Solo program, they typically finish this course in a more efficient manner.

Tuition includes supervised housing, on-campus meals, course fees, ground lab instruction, flight materials, books, and a non-refundable $30 registration fee.

Students must be 17 years old by July 29 to enroll in the SunFlight Private Pilot Program. Additionally, all participants must obtain an FAA Medical/ Student Pilot Certificate�.

*Final completion of certificated rating is not guaranteed. It is based on each students' abilities, and unforeseen circumstances, such as weather. In the event of a cancelled flight, we will do our absolute best to modify remaining flights and adjust the schedule to accommodate previously scheduled flight time.

�A qualified student is determined by the regulations set by the FAA, the discretion of the student's flight instructor and University faculty.

�Student must possess a FAA Medical and a Student Pilot Certificate. The K-12 Education Outreach office will email directions for the Student Pilot Certificate upon receipt of your application.

�The tuition includes a deposit toward the flight fees of $19,000. Total flight costs vary and are dependent upon the student's abilities. Flight/Instruction fees will be due at the completion of each lesson.

Registration

Registration will be open on January 8^th, 2025.

Cancellation Policy

Each cancellation will incur a $50 processing fee deducted from the refund. Any remaining balance will be refunded in full if your cancellation notice is received in writing by May 1st. Cancellation notices received after that date will result in forfeiture of the tuition deposit. Please note if cancellation notice is received after May 1st, and the camp is full, we will not be able to grant a refund unless your student's camp space can be filled. Registration Fees and International Student Fees are non-refundable.

International Students

If you are a non-US Citizen, you are required to have more than just a visitor visa to attend this program (required visa type such asF1). Once your application has been processed, you will receive communication on your next steps for all additional required documents. Once your file is reviewed, you will receive your letter of acceptance and instructions on how to obtain your I-20, along with instructions on how to start your background check. You must also pass the background check, including fingerprinting as required by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
