Molten glass will be gathered from a 2100°F furnace and participants will apply and melt in their choice of colors. You will then be guided through the process of inflating a bubble, shaping it into a cylinder, and ultimately finishing it by opening the top and finishing the shape of a nice cup.To finish your piece, it will be knocked off the pipe and the instructors will place the piece in a 900-degree oven to anneal. To prevent it from cracking, glass must be cooled slowly for at least 12 hours. Artwork made during a glass the workshop must cool in an annealing oven and will be available for pick-up later.
