Course Description: Perfect Summer Baking: From Pies to Cobblers

Despite the heat, summer is a wonderful time to bake. With an abundance of beautiful fruits in season, nothing pairs better than sugar, dough and spice. In this hands-on class, you'll practice essential baking techniques while creating light, seasonal desserts perfect for warm-weather gatherings. From zesty key lime pie to cloud-like angel food cake and rustic, bubbling cobblers, these desserts are guaranteed to shine at your next BBQ or pool party.

Bring an apron, a sharp knife and take-home containers. Please Note: We recognize that many individuals have specific dietary restrictions, aversions, and/or requests. Due to the nature of our culinary classes, the menu is set, and we are limited in our ability to make adjustments; outside food cannot be brought in to meet special requirements. The kitchen is not gluten or peanut-free.

Alyssa Dalgleish

Biography: Alyssa Dalgleish has over 12 years of experience in the restaurant industry, working in fine dining, wineries, caf�s, scratch kitchens and nightlife in both front- and back-of-house roles. For the past five years, she has taught advanced culinary courses at Bend Senior High School, guiding students in grades 9-12. Alyssa is passionate about sharing her industry knowledge and inspiring learners of all ages to build skills, confidence and creativity in the kitchen.

Cancellation Policy

Students must cancel by contacting our office via phone: (541) 383-7270 or email: ceinfo@cocc.edu. Cancellations received 5 days prior to the start of the class will receive a full refund. Full refunds are also issued for classes cancelled by COCC. Refunds will be issued back to your card or in the form of a check and mailed within two weeks of the cancellation date if paid by check or cash. Failure to participate in a course or program does not result in a refund. Exceptions to the general refund policy are noted in the course descriptions on our website and in the printed schedule.
