Course Detail: Coaching & Feedback Techniques
Coaching is a disciplined conversation using concrete performance information between a leader and an individual or a team that results in the continuous improvement of performance. It involves three main processes: communicating, influencing, and helping. The primary goal of coaching is to help your employee grow and develop in the organization. Learn the traits and characteristics of great coaches, principles for giving feedback, receiving feedback, a model for correcting poor performance and the importance of listening and asking questions as opposed to telling a subordinate what to do.

Michael Cieri
Biography: Mike Cieri, MSIR, has been in the Human Resource Management field for over 20 years. During this time he has held a variety of management positions, including several years on the executive management team of a large corporation as Vice President of Human Resources and Safety, as well as Vice President of Operations. His areas of expertise include legal compliance, workers' compensation, leadership development, performance management, coaching, training and development, compensation analysis, strategic planning, and developing best practices. Mike has a Master's degree in Industrial Relations & Human Resources from the University of Oregon, is a Certified Safety Director, and a national speaker. He has a coaching certificate from The Coaches Training Institute, San Rafael, California and Practitioner's Certificate in Neuro-Linguistic Programming from the NLP Institute of Oregon. Mike is an adjunct professor at Oregon State University as well as at Northwest Christian University in the College of Business.

Mike teaches some of the monthly sessions in COCC's leadership series and provides customized training and consulting for Central Oregon employers in both public and private sector settings.

Cancellation Policy
Students must cancel by contacting our office via phone: (541) 383-7270 or email: ceinfo@cocc.edu. Cancellations received 5 days prior to the start of the class will receive a full refund. Full refunds are also issued for classes cancelled by COCC. Refunds will be issued back to your card or in the form of a check and mailed within two weeks of the cancellation date if paid by check or cash. Failure to participate in a course or program does not result in a refund. Exceptions to the general refund policy are noted in the course descriptions on our website and in the printed schedule.
