Course Description: Adventure Writing Youth Camp

Embark on an unforgettable journey with new friends in our youth adventure writing camp! Experience the thrill of bringing your imagination to life through dynamic writing exercises and interactive activities designed to ignite your creativity. Join us as we explore the many realms, from fantasy to sci-fi to our own internal worlds. From crafting your own unique tales and epic quests, to bringing your own unique characters to life, this camp is a playground for exploration and discovery, and connecting with others who love writing just as much as you do. Ages 10-15.

Pencils and a writing journal will be provided. Please make sure your child(ren) are fed before camp begins. They are welcome to bring snacks from home.

Avery Grace

Biography: Avery Grace (they/she/elle) is a life-long writer of all stripes--a poet-playwright, dramaturg, theater director, and more. An alumnus of both the Kennedy Center's Playwriting Intensive. Avery is particularly proud of the fact that they have been teaching for more than 20 years at this point, beginning with--and now continuing with--facilitating written creative expression with young people. Avery practices living into new futures by infusing liberatory creative performance and popular education practices into community spaces, and is endlessly and eternally moved by the power of our individual and community stories.

Cancellation Policy

Students must cancel by contacting our office via phone: (541) 383-7270 or email: ceinfo@cocc.edu. Cancellations received 5 days prior to the start of the class will receive a full refund. Full refunds are also issued for classes cancelled by COCC. Refunds will be issued back to your card or in the form of a check and mailed within two weeks of the cancellation date if paid by check or cash. Failure to participate in a course or program does not result in a refund. Exceptions to the general refund policy are noted in the course descriptions on our website and in the printed schedule.
