Course Description: Community Youth Production of The Wizard of Oz

The community production of The Wizard of Oz will bring youth from Prineville and Madras together for this theater arts program offered free of cost to all who register. Rehearsals are every other weekend, April - August at COCC Madras, and culminate with two performances at the Madras Performing Arts Center, August 3 and August 4. All are welcome to participate with roles ranging from stage crew, munchkins, lead roles, and more. Ages 9-17.

Schedule:

Rehearsals are every other Saturday starting 4/13 - 8/03 at the COCC Madras campus. Performances are Saturday, 8/3 at 7PM and Sunday, 8/4 at 2PM, at the Madras Performing Arts Center.

Additional Course Information

The Community Youth Production of the Wizard of Oz is offered free of cost to all who register. Come one, come all! There will be a role for everyone interested in participating, whether it's acting or behind-the-scenes. The first rehearsal is Saturday, April 13 at COCC Madras. Students: please bring a sack lunch to every rehearsal.

Nacho Ruiz

Biography: Nacho Ruiz graduated from COCC with his AAOT and a certificate in illustration and this coming fall, he will return to school to finish his BFA in theater arts and pursue his dreams of working in New York. Which he has already started! Last summer, he worked as a scenic painter for a theater company in New York, and brought many of those gained talents to Madras High School's production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream". Nacho is directing The Wizard of Oz this summer and is thrilled to bring the arts to Central Oregon!

Full refunds are also issued for classes cancelled by COCC. Refunds will be issued back to your card or in the form of a check and mailed within two weeks of the cancellation date if paid by check or cash. Failure to participate in a course or program does not result in a refund. Exceptions to the general refund policy are noted in the course descriptions on our website and in the printed schedule.
