Course Description: The Art & Science of Fabric Manipulation

A basic understanding and practice of sewing is the foundation of this hands-on class. This course reviews primary stitches (straight, zig-zag), and joins the practice of art and science in the construction and deconstruction of fabrics. Learn techniques such as cutting, sewing, visualizing, and even hand-dying your own fabrics, to create your own fun and individualized project. Recommended Text: Wild Color by Jenny Dean. ·Fabric Scissors
·Fold Over Elastic (or other trimmings)
·White Fabric for dying techniques
·1 or 2 fiber reactive dyes 2oz (source listed above)
·Arm length gloves
·1-gallon paint bucket or similar dye vessel that won't be used for anything else

Full refunds are also issued for classes cancelled by COCC.
