Course Description: Solar Installation Training: Introduction to the Fundamentals

This is a 2.5-day training program designed to introduce participants to solar energy installation. Experienced instructors teach the basics of grid-tied PV systems. They will acquaint participants with safety protocols, plans, roof layout, flashing installation, stringing inverter systems, testing voltage and amperage, and careers in the solar industry. This is a free training, although you must register to attend. Minimum age for participants is 18 years old.

Additional Course Information

Registered students need to wear comfortable clothing and close-toed shoes. Come prepared with sunscreen, hat, and your own personal PPE gear if you have it. Lunch will be provided on 6/16 and 6/17 as part of the training. You will receive more information from your instructor a week before the start of class. Please review the training agenda link.

Cancellation Policy

Students must cancel by contacting our office via phone: (541) 383-7270 or email: ceinfo@cocc.edu. Cancellations received 5 days prior to the start of the class will receive a full refund. Full refunds are also issued for classes cancelled by COCC. Refunds will be issued back to your card or in the form of a check and mailed within two weeks of the cancellation date if paid by check or cash. Failure to participate in a course or program does not result in a refund. Exceptions to the general refund policy are noted in the course descriptions on our website and in the printed schedule.
