This practical Spanish course is for those who wish to learn basic language skills to communicate with Spanish-speaking customers and community members. It will include customer service phrases and conversations related to common workplace transactions in a customer service setting.

David Engel

Biography: David Engel is a Senior Instructor of Spanish at OSU-Cascades in Bend. He also co-directs the Faculty Support Center at OSU-Cascades in partnership with the Center for Teaching and Learning. He earned a Master of Arts in Spanish Language Teaching from Southern Oregon University and a Diploma de Espanol como Lengua Extranjera from Instituto Cervantes in Madrid. David is a Co-Founder of Ventanas, LLC, which develops and leads cultural immersion programs in Spain and Portugal. He has provided Spanish instruction and training in Oregon since 2006 with such organizations as COCC, Bend-LaPine Schools, Redmond and Jefferson County School Districts, Deschutes County, St. Charles Medical Center, and Bend and Redmond Fire Departments. He does official document translation for public institutions.

Students must cancel by contacting our office via phone: (541) 383-7270 or email: ceinfo@cocc.edu. Cancellations received 5 days prior to the start of the class will receive a full refund. Full refunds are also issued for classes cancelled by COCC. Refunds will be issued back to your card or in the form of a check and mailed within two weeks of the cancellation date if paid by check or cash. Failure to participate in a course or program does not result in a refund. Exceptions to the general refund policy are noted in the course descriptions on our website and in the printed schedule.
