This course explores the relationship between folklore and popular culture, with special emphasis on the analysis of legends, myths, icons, stereotypes, heroes, rituals, and celebrations. This is a non-credit Community Education class. You will not receive college credit.

These courses consist of fully online instruction and learning. Students participate via Canvas, COCC's online learning management system. Students meet regular deadlines and milestones throughout the course, but can participate weekly in the course based on their personal schedules. This is a college-level course. Although assignments, tests, and quizzes are optional for Community Education students, you will be expected to fully participate. A textbook may be required for this course. Please check with the COCC Bookstore. This is a non-credit Community Education class. You will not receive college credit.

Cancellation Policy

Students must cancel by contacting our office via phone: (541) 383-7270 or email: ceinfo@cocc.edu. Cancellations received 5 days prior to the start of the class will receive a full refund. Full refunds are also issued for classes cancelled by COCC. Refunds will be issued back to your card or in the form of a check and mailed within two weeks of the cancellation date if paid by check or cash. Failure to participate in a course or program does not result in a refund. Exceptions to the general refund policy are noted in the course descriptions on our website and in the printed schedule.
